Films that earn the next meeting

We make brand films.

Shot, cut and graded in-house for brands in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. Fixed price, a delivery date on the quote, and every film on this site lists what it had to achieve.

We overlap with US, UK and AU business hours.

Who this is for

A good fit, and an honest one

We would rather lose the enquiry than the project. If the right column describes you, say so on the call and we will point you somewhere better.
  • You have a deadline and a budget, and you want both respected.
  • You need one film to work as a master and as five cutdowns.
  • You are marketing to people who will judge you on production quality.
  • You would rather read a fixed quote than a day rate.
  • You want the cheapest bid. We will not be it.
  • You need someone on site in your city every week.
  • You want us to post to your channels and run the media buy.
  • Your budget is under about two thousand dollars.

Selected work

Three films and what they did

Each one lists the constraint that made it hard and the turnaround it was delivered in.

Six stages, with the real timings

These are elapsed times from projects we have actually delivered, not a best case. The stages that depend on you say so.

    Delivery

Every version, every ratio, captions included, files you own.

In-house

Shot, cut and graded under one roof

No handoffs between a production company and a post house, and no week lost while two vendors argue about a file. The person who shot it is down the hall from the person grading it.

The team

Who actually does the work

Four people. The person you speak to on the first call is the person who directs the film.
  • Placeholder Name, Founder, Director

    Placeholder Name

    Founder, Director

Started MixFilm after eight years cutting other people's footage and watching good films die in delivery. Directs the long-form work and handles every first call personally.

  • Placeholder Name, Director of Photography

    Placeholder Name

    Director of Photography

Shoots on Alexa and FX, prefers primes and available light. Has lit a roastery, a hospital ward and a restaurant mid-service without stopping any of them.

  • Placeholder Name, Editor

    Placeholder Name

    Editor

Cuts long and argues for it. Responsible for the seven-minute version of a film the client asked to be four, which is still the highest-retention piece on this site.

  • Placeholder Name, Colourist, Finishing

    Placeholder Name

    Colourist, Finishing

Grades in Resolve and builds the delivery LUTs clients use on their own phone content. Handles conform, QC and every platform spec so nothing bounces.

Before you ask

The five things everyone asks

If your question is not here, it is on the call. We answer within one business day.
You are not in my country. How does that work day to day?

We hold hours that overlap the US, UK and Australian working day, and we answer within one business day. Calls happen in your timezone, not ours. In practice you send notes at the end of your day and the next cut is waiting when you start the following one.

How many revisions do I get, and what happens if I need more?

Two rounds are included in every quote and are almost always enough, because you approve the treatment before we shoot. Further rounds are billed at a stated hourly rate that appears on the original quote, so it is never a surprise.

How do payments work?

Fifty per cent to book the dates, fifty on delivery. We invoice in your currency and accept bank transfer and card. Nothing is held hostage — you receive the files when the final invoice is paid, and the terms are on the quote before you sign.

Who owns the finished film?

You do, outright and worldwide, with no time limit and no media restrictions. The only exception is licensed music, where the licence terms are named on the quote before we use the track. We keep the right to show the work in our own portfolio unless you ask us not to.

What happens if the shoot goes wrong?

We carry backups of every critical piece of kit and record to two cards simultaneously wherever the camera supports it. If weather or access kills a shoot day, we reschedule at our cost. If we cannot deliver what the quote names, you do not pay for it.

I do not have a brief. Can you still quote?

Yes. Most of our projects start with a deadline and a rough goal rather than a brief. The thirty-minute call exists to turn that into a scope we can price.

Next step

Thirty minutes, in your timezone

Bring the deadline and the budget range. We will tell you on the call what it costs, how long it takes, and whether we are the right studio for it.

We overlap with US, UK and AU business hours.
