The brief
Replace a 40-page PDF with a film that donors would actually finish, for a fundraising gala and a year-round site placement.
The constraint
Patient privacy meant no faces for two of the three stories, and the gala cut had to work on a ballroom screen with poor audio.
What we did
- Told the two protected stories through hands, rooms and voice — no reconstruction, no actors.
- Mixed a second audio master with heavy compression and a raised dialogue bed specifically for the ballroom PA.
- Burned in captions on the gala version rather than relying on the venue's playback.
The result
Raised 1.4× the prior year's gala total.
